Perth, Australia smart grid project demonstrates savings

Recently Western Power of Australia released resultsfrom its comprehensive research program into energy efficiency. The numbers show that smart meters, the smart grid, and solar power can help households cut their electricity bills — by half!

For instance, in the Perth Solar City program, Western Power ran a series of energy efficiency trials which demonstrated that even with measures that cost the householder nothing, electricity bills can drop by nearly 10%…
