Panel: The Professor, the Reverend and the Entrepreneur

Earlier this summer I had the pleasure recently of speaking on a panel at California’s renowned Commonwealth Club. After walking past photos of Hillary Clinton and Nelson Mandela, I felt quite out of place.

Our panel was about consumer attitudes toward “Powering Down” — that is, saving energy. My fellow panelists were Gregory Walton (assistant professor of psychology at Stanford University) and Reverend Sally Bingham (president of California Interfaith Power & Light).

We had a lively discussion, which included an examinations of how social attitudes toward sustainable activities (like saving energy) can change for the better…
