Survey: 42% of Americans favor prepayment for electricity

In a recent nationwide survey, 42% of US consumers said they are interested in pay-as-you-go (or prepayment) as a way to pay for their electricity.

In the past a costly special meter was required for this option. However, smart meters make pay-as-you-go simple and inexpensive to implement….
